How is the number of patients waiting calculated?

The number of patients waiting represents patients that have checked in at the urgent care facility, but have not yet seen a provider. It is both patients in the waiting area and patients in a treatment room that have not yet started their visit.

Values can be influenced by many factors and should be considered estimates only.

WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon opened its $13 million WellSpan Sechler Family Cancer Center on Jan. 4, 2016, offering comprehensive, integrated care to patients. This includes chemotherapy, infusion therapy and radiation treatment. The facility also features many support services, including physician offices, a pharmacy and a spiritual center, as well as offices for social workers and dietitians.

WellSpan’s goal with the WellSpan Sechler Family Cancer Center is to make treatment more seamless and convenient for cancer patients, who have an average of 80 medically related visits in the first year after their diagnosis. Our center focuses on treating the most common forms of cancer: breast, prostate, lung, colon and bladder.

An integrated center such as Sechler can cut the number of those visits in half because its team of caregivers will evaluate patients, plan their care and work to coordinate visits at the center.

It is certified by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The WellSpan Sechler Family Cancer Center is a service of WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
