Cellular Phones
Should you need to use your cellular phone, we ask you to be considerate of other patients and visitors. Cellular phones may be used throughout the hospital with the exception of the Operating Room and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Use of camera features is prohibited with the exception of one’s family. Cellular phones are not to be used within two feet of electronic patient care equipment.
Laptop Computers and Tablet Devices
The use of personal laptop computers and tablet devices is permitted in most hospital areas. Wireless Internet service is available in many areas throughout the hospital. However, these devices should not be used within two feet of electronic patient care equipment.
Tobacco, Alcohol and Drug Use
The use of tobacco products and the consumption of alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs by employees, patients and visitors is strictly prohibited on WellSpan Health properties.
Fragrances
To help protect our patients, visitors and workers with allergies to fragrances, please refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, aftershave lotions or any similar product when visiting WellSpan Health properties. Products with fragrances can aggravate some health problems including asthma, allergies and other respiratory conditions. In some instances, fragrances can cause life-threatening events. With your help, we can all breathe a little easier.
Latex Balloons
Because of the increasing numbers of latex sensitive allergies, every attempt has been made to make the hospital a latex-safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Latex balloons are not permitted within the hospital facility. Mylar (foil) balloons are permitted.
Hand Hygiene
All staff members, patients, visitors and volunteers should clean their hands often to prevent the spread of germs to themselves or others. Clean hands go a long way toward preventing the spread of infections. Don’t be afraid to ask your caregiver if he or she has washed their hands before taking care of you.
Weapons
For the safety of our patients, visitors and employees, WellSpan prohibits weapons on all of its campuses and in its facilities.
