Sports Concussion Management

WellSpan has expertise in the diagnosis, management and treatment of sports concussions. Our providers manage concussed patients of all ages with sports and related injuries. We work closely with area schools to provide athletic trainers who can perform on-field brain injury assessments and manage return to play protocols. While most concussions are mild, others are serious enough to cause physical, neurological and behavioral changes. We use the ImPACT testing tool, in addition to a neurological examination, to determine the extent of the injury.
