The Adolescent and Pediatric Gynecology program at WellSpan provides advanced care to young girls and adolescents with gynecological concerns. Initial Gynecological Exam
WellSpan offers comprehensive initial gynecological exams, performed by our board-certified gynecologists. Recognizing that a first-time gynecological exam can be stressful, our doctors take the time to explain each procedure and answer your daughter’s questions. Since regular gynecological exams are so important, we do our best to make the initial visit a great experience.
Routine Pap Smears and Annual Gynecologic Care
Pap tests, along with pelvic exams, are an essential part of a woman's routine health care because they may detect abnormalities that can lead to invasive cancer. When treating our adolescent patients WellSpan’s gynecologists emphasize the importance of regular gynecological checkups.
Birth Control Counseling and Prescriptions
Besides proving gynecological exams, the WellSpan care team also counsels young women on birth control and explains their options, prescribing birth control medication when appropriate.
