Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I love the challenge of practicing family medicine. Each day brings something different, and I love being able to use the knowledge and skills I have to help my patients. As an osteopathic physician, I also enjoy being able to use my hands to provide comfort or healing manipulation when indicated. When I was considering career paths, I was looking for something to challenge me and keep my interest. Osteopathic family medicine provides that for me.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am a York County native. I grew up in Manchester and graduated from Northeastern Senior High School. My family has a long tradition of farming in the county (my brothers are the 8th generation to do it). Even though I have spent parts of my career outside the area, I have always identified York County as home and am glad to have the opportunity to serve patients in this area.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
In addition to seeing patients, my work in medicine includes medical education. I teach medical students and residents, and I work for a national testing organization (National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners) to develop licensing exams. For relaxation, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and am a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Manchester.
