Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I chose to pursue being a physician because I enjoy the challenge of medicine/healthcare. I am fascinated by how the human body works and how we can help that. I chose Family Medicine because I love the relationships built with patients and seeing them over time. I love the variety that I encounter in Family Medicine and like to be part of making communities better and healthier.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I see it as a privilege to care for patients, to be allowed into their lives and to help them through illness. Serving others and "doing the right thing" are guiding principles for me.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I am the program director of the Family Medicine Residency Program at WellSpan York Hospital. I oversee the education of our residents and ensure our continued educational accreditation for Family Medicine. When not at work, I am usually spending time with my children and watching their sporting events. I love to be outdoors in the warm weather (with sunscreen and a hat, of course). I love the beach, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
