Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
From my earliest recollections, I remember my grandparents telling me that I was going to be a doctor. Volunteer experiences during college and working at a sleep-away camp for disabled children and adults solidified my determination to enter the medical field. Even after 30 years as a physician, I can honestly say, it was the best decision and a career choice I would make again!
What I want my patients to know about me:
I am tenacious and want to help my patients and their families reach their goals. I take a comprehensive approach to neurological care. I try to address their needs and if I can’t solve a particular problem, I reach out to other medical professionals for their input and refer, if necessary. I am also pretty good at non-neurological issues. As one of my patients stated, “Not only are you a good neurologist but you’re really good as picking science fair projects!”
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I have many interests outside the office. I enjoy gardening and I am a fitness freak. Most days after work, I can be found at the local gym or doing spin class. I also collect antique clocks although my wife often states that the only clock in the house that shows the correct time is the digital one on the microwave!
