GSH Auxilary Reunion

Since 1921, the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary has been supporting our community hospital and fostering friendships that last a lifetime. We held our first Street Fair in 1949 and over the years have raised more than $2.5 million for equipment and other projects and programs to enhance patient care and comfort at the hospital. While the Street Fair is our most popular event, the auxiliary also hosts various other activities including an annual fashion show.

Rich in history, the auxiliary continues to build on our tradition of service by supporting the future of our community. In 1988, the auxiliary began a scholarship program for those pursuing health careers that has provided in excess of $439,600 to over 190 candidates.

We invite you to be a part of the future of our organization as we continue to our work to support The Good Samaritan Hospital and strengthen our community through education and events.

Over the years, auxiliary pledges have supported the purchase of specialized, life-saving medical equipment and furnishings for The Good Samaritan Hospital, the WellSpan Dixon Foundation Health Center and other health system locations.

Key Auxiliary Efforts:

  • 1960-70s New Surgical Suites
  • 1980s Mammography
  • 1990s New Beginning Birth Suites
  • 2000s Equipment needs including: dialysis, heart pillow kits, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), operating laser, critical care room and emergency department, portable x-ray units, wheelchairs and bariatric beds

We continue our support of the hospital through recent projects including renovations to the New Beginning Birth Suites to increase the comfort of new moms and their families.
