Double Creek walk, run and cycle event canceled due to inclement weather

Due to inclement weather forecast for tomorrow, the WellSpan York Health Foundation has canceled Double Creek. The annual community walk, run and cycling fundraising event was slated to begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at John Rudy Park. The decision to cancel this year’s event follows close monitoring of the weather forecast to ensure the safety of participants, spectators and volunteers. The event will not be rescheduled. Registered participants will be able to pick up their race T-shirts at the York Hospital Auxiliary Book Nook Bonanza held June 8 to 10 at the York Ice Arena. Double Creek registrants will also be offered free admission to this event.

About Double Creek
Double Creek was established in 2003 to provide support to programs that benefit underinsured families. All money raised benefits WellSpan’s Prescription for Caring program, which provides medications to uninsured patients, underinsured patients, and those who are insured but are struggling with multiple health care issues and life circumstances. In 2017, 90 percent of those served had $30,000 or less in household income. This pharmacy program provided more than 15,000 free, life-sustaining medications to patients without insurance.
