WellSpan York Hospital Emergency Department

The Emergency Department at WellSpan York Hospital is available 24 hours a day to care for ill or injured residents in our area. Dedicated nurses, physicians and other staff members provide acute care for a wide variety of conditions. The physicians and staff of the Emergency Department work with area ambulance units to coordinate pre-hospital and hospital-based care.

At WellSpan York Hospital the Emergency Department hosts a residency training program for graduate physicians, and a wide variety of training experiences for nurses, paramedics, medical students and other health professionals. Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) teams are also available at many of our hospitals. Comprehensive Crisis Intervention and psychiatry services are also available 24-hours-a-day. This commitment to patient-centered care and to the education of tomorrow's health care providers allows us to continually improve and focus our patient care efforts.
