Take the Risk Assessment

When you’re suffering with a spine condition – a back or neck problem – the main thing on your mind is getting relief from your back or neck pain, so you can get back to living your life to the fullest. At WellSpan, our spine care team treats acute and chronic spine conditions with a variety of innovative treatment options.

We work hard to get to know each of our patients, understanding not only your medical history and conditions but also your wishes and needs to be addressed in your care plan. No matter what is causing your pain, we can help you feel better so you can get back to focusing on what matters – living your life.

At WellSpan, you’ll benefit from our team approach approach consisting of physiatry and pain management physicians, as well as spine surgeons, physical therapist, behavioral health and nurse navigator specialists all working as one to treat your neck and back issues. Your team of spine specialists will work closely so you can be sure you’ll receive comprehensive care for your spine condition. We also work closely with your primary care provider to keep them informed and involved each step of the way.

A core value of our Spine Program is maintaining high quality outcomes and continually tracking patient progress. Our commitment to achieving and maintaining these high standards means that you know you’ll be receiving the best care with the latest technology and advances in spine treatments. Each member of our spine care team is committed to delivering a great patient experience for you and your family – by putting our patients first and taking the time to get to know each patient individually.

How We Can Help

Customized Evaluation and Treatment

Our physicians and advanced practice clinicians will provide a complete and thorough evaluation of your back or neck problem. This includes clinical evaluation and may also include x-rays, advanced imaging (such as CT scans and MRI) and other testing. Our team works with you and your primary care provider to create an individualized treatment plan that may include treatments such as physical therapy, spinal injections, nerve ablation or spinal cord stimulation and only if necessary, surgery.

Seamless Care Across Health Care Settings

We address spine conditions with both surgical and non-surgical approaches, depending on your situation, needs and desires. We strive to offer our patients seamless continuity of care from the inpatient to outpatient setting, as we get to know you and diagnose and manage your condition over time.

Regional Leaders in Surgical and Interventional Pain Procedures

When other, more conservative treatments are unsuccessful, we offer interventional pain procedures, such as epidural steroid injections and radiofrequency ablation. We also offer surgical procedures such as decompression or fusion. We are leaders in using intraoperative image-guided spine surgery to maximize your safety and the effectiveness of the procedure.

Focus on Complementary Treatment Options

If you’re in pain, we understand that the first thing on your mind is getting relief. At the same time, you’re likely concerned about long-term dependence on pain medication. We focus on getting our patients away from long-term pain medications through a full range of interventions that may also include the use of complementary treatments, such as massage, nutrition, acupuncture and yoga.
