Frequently asked questions

Each hospital will be fully equipped to treat common emergency needs arriving by personal vehicle or EMS, in our 10-bed, 24/7//365 emergency department. Common conditions we will be able to treat include:

  1. Chest pain and heart-related symptoms
  2. Difficulty breathing, asthma attacks and pneumonia
  3. Broken bones, sprains, cuts and injuries from falls or accidents
  4. Severe infections, high fever and dehydration
  5. Allergic reactions or rashes
  6. Abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting
  7. Neurological symptoms like dizziness, fainting or stroke warning signs

For conditions that require admission, our inpatient unit will feature private rooms with extended visitation and immediate access to specialists through virtual care, an added resource to our bedside care team.

Patients can expect prompt radiology, laboratory and EKG results provided to aid in rapid diagnosis and treatment for emergencies or inpatient stays.

Patients with complex, acute care needs and patients who need surgery will be assessed and transferred to another WellSpan hospital to receive a higher level of care.

The combination of the building layout and the staffing model enables patients to be seen, on average, in 15 minutes or less. The smaller footprint makes parking and entering the facility easier, especially when you or your loved one is sick or injured.

Most patients are seen by a board-certified physician in under 15 minutes. The average ER visit duration is 90 minutes or less.
