Billing & Insurance

Insurance coverage varies greatly from plan to plan. If you are unsure about the terms of your coverage, we suggest you review your plan or contact your insurance company directly. (See health plans WellSpan accepts.) This will help you to understand our billing procedures and charges.

For assistance with any billing questions, concerns or payments, please direct your inquiry to the facility where the services were rendered.

*Note:  Your hospital bill does not include charges from your attending physician, surgeon, anesthesiologist, radiologist or cardiologist or other physicians who may treat you during your hospital stay. Physicians establish their fees independently and decide whether or not to participate in programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Shield and HMOs/PPOs. If you have any questions regarding physicians' fees or their participation in insurance, state or federal programs, you should discuss them with your physician.

This multimedia guide is designed to help users assess healthcare needs before shopping and simplify the process of purchasing insurance through Pennsylvania’s health insurance marketplace. This comprehensive tool is the first of its kind in Pennsylvania.

Getting Covered
features video, audio, calculators and other tools such as a glossary of insurance terms, expert Q&A's, and personal stories about searching for insurance.  Getting Covered users can tailor this unique tool to fit their own specific needs based on their current situation. Users are able to do research by identifying which category best fits them – young adult, senior, family, and small business. Then, they are able to dive more deeply and garner information that is relevant to their circumstance in order to further simplify the process.

Transforming Health is a broad-based, multimedia project, with the goal of presenting information on the policy and personal health choices we face in today’s health system. By taking a closer look at health care, its quality and its costs, and the importance of maintaining health in the first place, through individual and collective action, we’ll all be better prepared to face the rapidly approaching future of health in America and in central Pennsylvania. About the provider search

This search will provide you with WellSpan Medical Group and Northern Lancaster County (Ephrata) Medical Group primary care physicians and specialists. If we don’t have a WellSpan Medical Group physician to meet your criteria, the search will expand to include community physicians who partner with WellSpan Medical Group physicians through the WellSpan Provider Network or provide care to patients on the Medical Staffs of WellSpan’s Hospitals.

If you don't have a WellSpan primary care provider and would like to schedule a new patient appointment with a provider who is accepting patients, just log into your MyWellSpan account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to see the offices that are accepting new patients in relation to your zip code. If you are not enrolled in MyWellSpan, go to, call 1-866-638-1842 or speak with a member of the staff at a participating facility to sign up. New patient scheduling not available at all practices/programs.

Already a patient at this practice?

If you already have a relationship with a WellSpan practice, simply log into your account, and go to the Appointment Center section. As you progress through the scheduling process, you will be able to schedule an appointment with any provider or practice that already counts you as a patient. Online scheduling varies by practice/program.
