For the seventh time in the last nine years, WellSpan has been named one of the nation's "Digital Health Most Wired" health systems by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
WellSpan achieved recognition for the fourth consecutive year in two categories: domestic ambulatory and acute care settings. It also received the Quality Award for both the Ambulatory and Acute categories.
"Patients across the communities we serve at WellSpan Health receive the best care possible when you drive change through digital transformation," said Dr. R. Hal Baker, WellSpan's senior vice president and chief information and digital officer.
"We are honored to receive this recognition for our dedicated IT team that continues to innovate our care delivery processes and put the power of data into the hands of our leaders, caregivers and patients."
The Most Wired program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations use advanced technologies in their clinical and business programs to improve the health of their communities. More than 38,000 organizations completed the survey this year to assess the adoption, integration, and impact of technologies in healthcare at all stages of development.
Organizations like WellSpan that attain CHIME's Digital Health Certified Ambulatory Level 8 status – the Quality Award – have deployed technologies and strategies to analyze data and begin achieving meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes, according to the official designation.
Through the Analytics Center of Excellence, WellSpan continues to develop targeted ways to engage patients in order to improve care and increase the efficiency of operations.
