WellSpan Health is taking its latest step to address affordability in healthcare by launching the WellSpan SaveRx Card, a free prescription discount card that can be used at more than 60,000 pharmacies nationwide, including WellSpan pharmacies.

"We are excited to launch the WellSpan SaveRx Card as part of our ongoing commitment to providing affordable, accessible healthcare to the communities we serve," said P. Geoff Nicholson, senior vice president and chief clinical officer of WellSpan Population Health. "Prescription drug costs can be a significant financial burden for many, and we are proud to offer this program as a way to help our patients – and members of our communities – save money on the medications they need."

The WellSpan SaveRx Card offers discounts on most prescriptions, with savings varying by medication and pharmacy. Patients simply present the card to their pharmacist when filling a prescription. There are no membership fees or activation requirements. Cardholders can review pricing and choose the best pharmacy for their needs by visiting WellSpanSaveRx.com.

This savings program is not health insurance and cannot be used in conjunction with insurance. This card cannot be used with any federal- or state-funded program, such as Medicare or Medicaid.
