Beginning Monday, July 17, safety fencing and barriers will begin going up around the Ketterman Building to prepare for demolition.
The fencing will extend along Irving Road and encircle the Ketterman Building footprint. The campus entrance on Irving Road will be closed to all traffic except construction vehicles and ambulance vehicles accessing the Emergency Department.
No parking will be available along Irving Road and the safety fencing will extend into the roadway taking up space previously used for hourly parking. The removal of parking will allow for two-way traffic to continue on Irving Road for neighborhood residents.
The safety fencing will also reduce access to hospital buildings from along Irving Road. All team member who used the campus entrance off Irving Road should use the South George Street entrance and parking in the South Lot.
Please use the South George Street entrance to access the campus and avoid using Irving Road as much as possible for your own safety throughout construction of the new surgical and critical care tower.
Additional changes to traffic flow will occur of the coming weeks to improve access to the Emergency Department during the construction process.
