PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital
Our program builds on your Doctor of Pharmacy education and prepares you to be:
- responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions
- eligible for board certification
- eligible for PGY-2 pharmacy residency training
We are affiliated with the School of Pharmacy at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.
As a resident, you’ll work closely with the health care team and patients in various settings to achieve optimal cost-effective care and safety for patients.
You’ll learn essential clinical tools such as medication therapy management, counseling and teaching patients, medication reconciliation and medication distribution.

- Critical Care (10-week rotation at Chambersburg Hospital)
- Transitions of Care (5-week rotation)
- Inpatient Psychiatry I (5-week rotation at Chambersburg Hospital)
- New – Ambulatory Care (longitudinal)
- Teaching and Learning (longitudinal)
- Research and Biostatistics (longitudinal)
- Pharmacy Practice Management (longitudinal)
- Medication Safety (longitudinal)
- Staffing (longitudinal)
