I was born in New York City, but growing up we moved several times, and I also called Rising Sun, MD, Glenwood Springs, CO, and Philadelphia, PA my childhood homes. I completed my undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology at Long Island University- Global College in which I spent 3 years studying abroad in over 10 countries. Through my travels, I gained an interest in Global Health, as I witnessed how more doctors are desperately needed worldwide, which sparked my motivation to pursue a medical degree.
I attended West Virginia University School of Medicine, where I saw the huge health disparities that exist in the United States and spent time volunteering to provide free medical services to the homeless and participating in initiatives to aid pregnant women with substance use disorder. I am thrilled to be part of the residency program at WellSpan York Hospital because of the amazing faculty and staff who strive to create a supportive educational atmosphere for us to learn and succeed. I am also excited to be able to serve the diverse patient population of York and learn the nuances of delivering care in this culturally rich environment. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, traveling, gardening, and painting.
Alexis Davis, MD
Medical School: Albany Medical College
Undergraduate: University of Delaware
I was born and raised in Westchester County, NY, went to the University of Delaware (Go Hens!), and attended Albany Medical College in Albany, NY for medical school. Growing up, I wanted to be an actress, but since my parents refused to move to LA, I settled for becoming a doctor, instead...I guess this career is a pretty sweet alternative, though. My hobbies include watching an entire season of a TV show in one night, keeping my sourdough starter alive against all odds, traveling, and besting Peloton by taking their classes but using an Echelon bike because I don't have Peloton money.
I have two cats named Bali and Momo, and they enjoy my being at work all day and talking about me behind my back. I love OB/GYN and plan on being a generalist after residency. I love the WellSpan residency program because everyone is so nice, welcoming, and patient, which makes the learning environment so great. I also love that we're a program that hangs out outside of work, too, so we're not just co-residents -- we're also friends!
Laura Arreaza, MD
Medical School: St. George’s University of London
Undergraduate: The College of William and Mary
I grew up in the suburbs of Rochester, NY, and since then have lived in Williamsburg VA, London, and Philadelphia while completing my undergrad and medical school training. After living in Philly, I was itching to get back to the suburbs, so when I arrived at York Hospital to do my Ob/Gyn clerkship, I felt instantly at home. Not only does York Hospital have the incredible feeling of community where you know everyone is looking out for you, but the education and the training received here are top-notch. York lets me explore my passions in Ob/Gyn (preventative health for Hispanic populations, family planning and contraceptive counseling) and my extracurricular passions of yoga, outdoor running, and eating at cute new places.
When I’m not catching babies, you can usually find me at home playing with my cat, playing my flute or my keyboard, or Skyping with my four nieces and nephews. If you’re looking for a place with cute local shops and tasty food, wonderful people, and a great hospital that is <2 hours from some of the best cities on the east coast, York is for you!
Roxanne Shirazi, DO
Medical School: Virginia COM – Auburn
Undergraduate: Louisiana State University
I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where I completed my undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences at LSU. GEAUX TIGERS!! It was then that I decided to take my love for traveling and cultures to France, where I taught elementary school for a year, before heading back to the South to attend medical school at VCOM-Auburn.
My passion for women’s health and preventative medicine in both the local and global health settings brought me to York Hospital as a rotating student. I fell in love with the program’s clinical and educational opportunities, and most importantly, the people! I am thrilled to become a part of the Ob/Gyn team and to serve York’s diverse population!
I am excited to discover the North, although I am a bit concerned about this whole winter concept. I made the big move with my Maine Coon, Leonidas, and my significant other, who will be an orthopedic resident in the area. In my free time, I will be enjoying the outdoors, traveling, cooking with all the flavors, and catching up with family and friends.

Sabrina Kamer, MD
Medical School: Case Western Reserve
Undergraduate: NY University College of Arts and Science
I’m originally from New York City, and I have family in NYC and Virginia. I have a friendly little lap dog, Daisy, and a kitten Iris who are my little princesses (and they know it). I love meeting new people and making new friends for Daisy and Iris.
I always knew I wanted to do Ob/Gyn. I’m interested in being an academic generalist, possibly laborist. I like research and have participated in women’s health research throughout medical school and hope to continue throughout my career. I hope to be part of a practice that allows me to see patients and be a clinician as well as continue my research interests after residency.
I enjoy spending time with my animals and finding new experiences and friends. I’m also close with my family and love to spend time with my family and friends.
This program has lots of opportunities and I’m enjoying working with our Latina population with our Centering Pregnancy groups! I’m currently working on my Spanish so I can better communicate and help my patients.
