Application information

Application to the WellSpan York Hospital Orthopedic Surgery Residency program is exclusively done through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Paper applications from medical students applying for a residency position in the program will not be accepted.

Application review will be performed as completed applications are received. The application deadline is October 31.

Each application received through ERAS will be reviewed, and the students selected will be contacted for an interview date in December.

The ERAS requirements for our three PGY-1 positions are:

COMLEX: A minimum board score of 600 on COMLEX or a USMLE of 230 or higher, with a required passing score on the PE before your interview
letters of recommendation: Three letters of recommendation and your dean's letter (Medical Student Performance Evaluation)
personal statement: Your statement should include details about your character, experiences, accomplishments and goals.
medical school transcripts: Uploaded through your medical school
curriculum vitae (CV): Your CV should highlight education, work and volunteer experiences, memberships and professional societies, medical school and other awards and accomplishments, leadership experience, research and publications.
