Cindy Fruitrail is the executive vice president and chief strategy officer for WellSpan Health. Cindy works in close partnership with WellSpan’s CEO and board of directors to define and drive the health system’s strategy and execution. Her work furthers critical partnerships and initiatives to advance the strategic vision, grow the health system, and achieve results. In her role, Cindy also provides executive leadership to the board relations, communications, government relations, grants, philanthropy, marketing and strategy functions across the health system.
Cindy joined WellSpan in 2020 and has more than 25 years of experience in large, integrated health systems with experience in brand management, communications, governance, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and product launches.
At WellSpan, Cindy previously held the roles of senior vice president and chief of staff and vice president and chief communications officer for the health system. Prior to WellSpan, Cindy served in a variety of leadership roles at Fairview Health Services, a 10-hospital, fully integrated health system in Minneapolis, MN, including the role of vice president of brands, marketing, and corporate communications. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in communication studies.
Throughout her career, Cindy has been active an active supporter of a wide variety of health-related organizations, such as the American Heart Association, Girls on the Run, and March of Dimes. Cindy currently serves on the boards of YMCA of the Roses serving Lancaster and York counties, York County Community Foundation, Byrnes Health Education, and the Funders Advisory Board of Every Child Has Opportunities (ECHO).
