Dr. Vranian is the program director for the cardiology fellowship program and serves as the medical director of the ventricular assist device (VAD) program. He did his internal medicine residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and his general cardiology fellowship and subsequent advanced heart failure and transplantation fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
Interests: congestive heart failure, ventricular assist device (VAD)
Hobbies: Other than spending time with my wife and three children, I enjoy building furniture, carpentry and woodworking. I am very good with my hands and it gives me a way to do something totally unrelated after a tough day at work.
Chris Wenger, DO, FACC, FNLA

Undergraduate: Elizabethtown College
Dr. Wenger is one of the associate program directors of the fellowship program and one of our prevention specialists with board certifications in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiology and clinical lipidology. He is the site director of the outpatient experience for the fellowship. He did his residency at Geisinger Medical Center and his fellowship at Rowan University.
Interests: abnormal EKG or echo, abnormal stress test, angina, atrial fibrillation, aortic stenosis, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, dizziness or syncope, heart murmur, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, palpitations, valvular heart disease, vascular disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
Hobbies: I enjoy time with my wife and three children. When I have personal time, I enjoy exercising (often), reading fiction and playing my acoustic guitars.
Jefferson Lee, MD

Dr. Lee is one of the associate program directors of the fellowship and one of our electrophysiologists. He did his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and his fellowships in cardiology and electrophysiology at Washington University School of Medicine. Before joining WellSpan, he was academic faculty at University of Illinois at Chicago.
Hobbies: hiking, Major League Baseball, spending time with family
Samvit Tandan, MD, PhD
Associate Program Director
Medical school: UT Southwestern Medical Center
Residency: Montefiore Medical Center (internal medicine)
Post-residency training: University of Vermont (cardiovascular disease)
Dr. Tandan is one of the associate program directors of the fellowship. He majored in biology while in college, and to fully understand the heart at a molecular level, later pursued a doctoral dissertation studying the underlying pathophysiology of heart failure and electrical signaling in the heart while in graduate school in Dallas. He followed that with a medical degree and went on to complete internal medicine training in New York City.
Interests: imaging for structural heart procedures, echocardiography
Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with family, relaxing at home, tennis, swimming and Formula 1 racing. I also like to travel the world and have volunteered in some developing countries, including Rwanda with Team Heart.
