Dr. Robert attended undergraduate school at Loyola University in Baltimore, Maryland, and received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. She completed her family medicine residency at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP), the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the York County Medical Society and Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, Dr. Robert joined the WellSpan York Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program faculty in 2002.

She is an officer in the Program Director’s Assembly for PAFP and currently serves as the Treasurer for the York County Medical Society. She attended the National Institute for Program Director Development in 2007-2008.

Interests & hobbies: Community service and care of the underserved, graduate medical education and women’s health

Chasity Spagnola

Dr. Spagnola is a York native — she grew up in York and attended York College of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate. She received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed family medicine residency training in Williamsport, Pennsylvania at the Williamsport Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Spagnola joined the WellSpan York Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program faculty in 2018. She is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

Dr. Maxwell is a Towson University graduate and attended medical school at the University of Maryland. After her family medicine residency at WellSpan York Hospital, Dr. Maxwell joined WellSpan's Stonebridge practice. In 2023, she returned to Thomas Hart and the residency program as clinical faculty.

Medicine is such an exciting, interesting, challenging and ever-changing field, but it is only part of why she chose to become a physician. As a family medicine doctor, she gets to know her patients and be an advocate for them. She enjoys getting to know new people and being able to help them lead healthy lives. She loves to continually learn new information to be able to better serve her patients.

Hobbies: I spend my free time with my family, friends and fur babies. You can often find me outside gardening, tending to my goats and chickens, or reading on the deck.

Dr. Gross, a York County native, is a graduate of Juniata College and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, and is board certified in neuromusculoskeletal medicine in addition to osteopathic family medicine.

She completed the faculty development fellowship at University of North Carolina and received her master's degree in medical education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

She works full time as Vice President for Clinical Skills Testing with the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, overseeing the COMLEX Level 2-PE exam and is onsite one day per week for clinical work with the residency program. She has worked in residency education for more than 15 years, including programs in northeast Pennsylvania and Georgia.

She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Academy of Osteopathy, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society, where she serves on the Board of Trustees. She is also a member of the alumni board for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM).

Dr. Uwazota is a graduate of Lagos University. He completed a graduate program at Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and an internship program at University College Hospital. After completing his family medicine residency at WellSpan York Hospital, Dr. Uwazota joined the faculty of the program.

He chose to pursue a career in medicine to help people and give them hope. He realized from a young age that he had a love for people and an interest in improving the quality of their lives as they struggled with illness.

Hobbies: I spend time with my family. I love reading a good autobiography and keeping up with the latest tech news.

Medical school: Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine

Residency: Lancaster General Hospital (Family and Community Medicine)

Dr. Zimmerman practices broad spectrum family medicine, including obstetrics, hospital medicine and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). She also enjoys in-office procedures. She is very passionate about advocacy at local, state and national levels, including for patients and the profession of family medicine.

She has held multiple leadership positions at these levels, including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) and the Lancaster City & County Medical Society. Health literacy is important to her, and she continues this work.

During residency at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, her team was awarded the prestigious Picker Gold Graduate Medical Education Challenge Grant. Dr. Zimmerman also engages in medical team wellness and has achieved the Leading Physician Wellbeing Certificate from the AAFP. She completed medical school at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Post residency, she fulfilled her National Health Service Corps (NHSC) service in rural upstate New York at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), practicing outpatient medicine and high-volume obstetrics. She is a certified instructor for the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Course.

Dr. Nagib received her bachelor’s degree from York College and her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. Dr. Nagib completed her residency training in family medicine at WellSpan York Hospital and is board certified in family medicine.

After working for a number of years caring for patients at WellSpan Hayshire Family Medicine, Dr. Nagib joined the faculty in 2015. She completed a Junior Faculty Development Program at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 2019.

Dr. Nagib has special interests in medical missions trips, global health promotion initiatives, human trafficking awareness and medical education.

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time with my children, whether it is coloring, painting, taking walks or going swimming. I also enjoy working with my husband, family and friends to plan charity events for different causes; Operation Christmas Child is one of my favorite annual events! I also enjoy travelling to Guatemala on short-term medical missions trips.

Dr. Stolakis is a graduate of Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience.

He completed his residency in family medicine at WellSpan York Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, and is board certified in Family Medicine. He has presented at various venues, including but not limited to the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians Research Day, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine. He has a published book chapter in Netter’s Sports Medicine.

He directs the point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum for residents that utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and software. He has special interests in evidence-based medicine and POCUS.

Hobbies: I enjoy exercising, grilling, hanging out with my family and friends and doing yard work.

Post Residency Training: Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh (Clinical Research)

Dr. Tovar received her degree in clinical psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical research at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Tovar educates residents on behavioral health aspects of patient care at the Family Practice Center and supports their personal and professional development throughout their years of residency. She oversees the Communication and Patient Experience (CAPE) curriculum using standardized patient experiences to teach best communication practices in difficult situations.

Areas of clinical and research interest include depressive and anxiety disorders, health disparities, bias awareness and culturally responsive care.

Dr. Delp is a graduate of Haverford College and the Temple University School of Medicine. He completed a family medicine residency at the Maine Medical Center and is board certified in family medicine. Dr. Delp joined the York Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in 1996 and his practice includes obstetrics.

Hobbies: I constantly seek out connections with my family and friends. I enjoy many active exploits in the outdoors, including running, cycling, swimming, hiking, fly fishing and kayaking. I also enjoy the solitude of the wilderness and a good book.

Dr. Lijoi is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Maryland, where he served as Chief Resident and received the Mead Johnson Award for Excellence in Family Medicine Education.

Dr. Lijoi is board-certified in family medicine and geriatrics and does obstetrics. He served as staff physician in Hyden, Kentucky, with the Public Health Service and then spent seven years in private practice in Hanover, Pennsylvania. On the family medicine faculty since 1995, Dr. Lijoi has served numerous editorial functions for the American Board of Family Medicine, as a Specialist Site Visitor for the Residency Review Committee in Family Medicine and on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Final Appeals Board for Family Medicine.

He is a 2003 graduate of the National Institute for Program Director Development and, in 2019, completed the Certificate Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University. He directs the narrative medicine curriculum for residents and hosts a monthly institution wide drop-in session.

He has special interests in understanding the patient perspective and writing patient narratives. He is a catechist and lector at St. Joseph Church.

Dr. Keenan is the Family Medicine Department chair. He works out of WellSpan Family Medicine – Hayshire office. Dr. Keenan graduated from American University of the Caribbean and completed his family medicine residency at Centra-Lynchburg Family Medicine. Family medicine is his passion because of the ability to connect with patients throughout their lifespan, the diversity of patient experiences and the multitude of settings to provide care.

Interests & hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy camping, hiking, trail running, skiing, fishing and spending time with my wife Megan and three daughters. I am a Baltimore native, so I enjoy traveling to visit my parents and in-laws, eating crabs and watching Ravens football.
