Karen Frock, PharmD, BCCCP, received her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 2000. She completed a PGY-1 and a PGY-2 residency in critical care at WellSpan York Hospital.
After completion of residency training, she began clinical practice in the trauma and surgical ICUs at WellSpan York Hospital. Her practice involves providing pharmacotherapy for patients with traumatic injury, as well as for surgical critical care patients. In addition to being a supervisor and Residency Program Director for the PGY-2 program, Karen serves as preceptor for the trauma surgical ICU rotation for PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents. She also precepts the PGY-2 longitudinal drug information, teaching and practice administration and staffing experiences.
Karen is involved with various hospital committees, including WellSpan Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Drug Shortage, Trauma Performance Improvement, Trauma Guidelines, Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS), Critical Care Operations and Blood Utilization Review. She received the 2009 Pennsylvania Society of Health-system Pharmacists Joe E. Smith Award.
