Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I chose a career in medicine to help empower people to make positive changes in their lives to change the course of disease. I am a firm believer that primary care is on the front lines of health care, and as such has the greatest opportunity for affecting changes in the overall health of our community.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I want my patients to know that while I can prescribe medications for a variety of medical conditions, I also ascribe to non-medical interventions (e.g. dietary & lifestyle modification, physical therapy, meditation, behavioral health, etc.). I believe that the things we do on a daily basis have long-lasting and profound effects on our general health, and that addressing those issues is just as important, if not more so, than prescribing medication.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Spending time with my family, travelling and Geocaching.

This provider is my primary care physician, I can never get a appointment with him when I am ill or hurt because he is always booked with appointments 3 months out. However, I usually can get an appointment with another doctor in the system within a day or so.

Dr. Amparo is an excellent doctor every time I go to his doctors office it's a great experience. He's always keeping up with appointments that I have to make. He makes going to see him very easy easy person to talk to explains very well. Things are going on with me.

Dr. Amparo always takes the time needed to take care of our family and myself. He is genuine. In time of family crisis, he and his team followed us by phone calls and emails during the passing of my brother in law and our mother. I will never forget that. Just being there and asking if there was anything we needed. It was a tough time, but know that help was there for us was an email or phone call away. I should add that my brother in law and our mother were both patients of Dr. Amparo as well. We feel deeply connected.
