Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in medicine after completing an internship at a children's hospital as an undergraduate. Seeing the positive impact that I could have on people's lives motivated me to become a physician. Obstetrics and gynecology offers an opportunity to play a major role in one of the most important and memorable moments of a patient's and their family's lives.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I bring 14 years of experience in taking care of my patients since completion of my residency. Eleven of those years were spent in central Pennsylvania, where I practiced primarily as the sole physician for obstetrics and gynecology at a community hospital. The volume and responsibility that I gained in that experience has served my patients greatly during my career.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
"Family time" is my priority when not practicing medicine. Whether it's coaching a baseball team for one of my three sons or finding a new place to eat in York/Adams County with my wife, we spend as much time together as possible. Mountain biking and skiing with my boys provides ample fresh air and exercise for all of us.

Dr Montgomery is a great provider I moved almost a half hour away and still travel to this office because he is very professional and makes the patient feel comfortable. Going to see the gynecologist can be intimidating. He helped me with issues no other gynecologist could in the past

I love Dr. Montgomery! He is friendly and never makes you feel rushed. He makes sure he addresses all your questions before leaving the room.

The provider was excellent he treated me with respect and showed me he really cared for my health and my medical issues and gave me advice on prescription if my insurance cost was too high.

I love the receptionists and nurses at this office. I have had mixed feelings about Dr. Montgomery. I often feel he wants to see us as quickly as possible. I also often feel like he springs things on me and doesn't explain things in a way that makes me feel calm or reassured. I also wish the office would give us more of an idea of what to expect at the next appointment as we have never experienced pregnancy before. For example, paperwork about our birth wishes was sprung on us, and we were asked to sit in the waiting room and fill out a paper about very important decisions we weren't prepared for. Information about the RSV vaccine was also sprung on us, and I would have appreciated having a heads up at the appointment prior to make these decisions for this appointment. We ended up asking to take the paperwork home and bring back to the next appointment, which they did allow.

This was my first visit with Dr Montgomery. He was friendly and professional.

I went to countless doctors through UPMC through for 3 months and spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out why I'm in so much pain. The gynecologist through UPMC did an ultrasound, didn't find anything, and told me to talk to my pcp if I still needed help. Dr Montgomery actually listened to me and is doing to necessary tests to figure out what the problem is.
