Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I enjoy getting to know people, helping others and science. I could not have picked a more rewarding profession! My greatest satisfaction comes from seeing families year after year.
What I want my patients to know about me:
It is a true honor to partner with parents to promote the health of their children. Medically the most effective way to promote the health of your child is to make sure immunizations are given on time. Vaccines save lives! Many other conditions do not require extensive testing or medicines. Listening carefully to patients and parents is much more helpful than most laboratory or imaging studies.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love spending time with my wife and family. When I am not taxiing my kids to activities, I run, hike, camp, ski, travel, read and above all... BBQ!

Dr. Zelis is the best pediatrician our family has seen. He is extremely up to date in his knowledge and practices, but he also takes the time to explain things to the parents and children. He shows that he cares deeply for his patients. We are very grateful for him!

The doctor is courteous however very insistent on pushing vaccines and does not seem respectful of my husband and my choice to not vaccinate currently. We feel we are judged each time we decline.
