I have always had a nurturing and caring personality. Coming from a medical family, medicine seemed like a great way to use my strengths to benefit others. Unfortunately, as a child, I had a lot of time to learn what it meant to be a patient. This time in my life was challenging, however, I was blessed to have some outstanding doctors. They made me feel heard, and through their actions, they showed me how important my health was to them. It is because of many of these providers, that I pursued medicine. It has been my goal in my career to become the type of doctor that I had as a child.
My medical career started out as an RN in an ER and trauma center. The fast paced and exciting environment of the ER showed me that I am more of an adrenaline junkie that I thought. I loved my time in emergency medicine, yet the switch to primary care, while drastic, has been so rewarding. I have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to establish relationships with my patients.
My husband and I love being outside. It's our goal to see all of the US National Parks and we are always excited to knock new parks off of our list. I love spending time in the kitchen as cooking is therapeutic for me. Hanging out with friends and family takes up a lot of my time and I am so thankful for these relationships. Finally, I am a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan. Let's go Pens!
