Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
Medicine is such an exciting, interesting, challenging and ever-changing field, but this is only part of why I chose to become a physician. As a family medicine doctor, I am able to get to know my patients and be an advocate for them. I enjoy getting to know new people and being able to help them lead healthy lives. I love to continually learn new information to be able to better serve my patients.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I want to be your advocate and help you in any way that I can. If I don't know the answer, then I will work to find out. I get excited when patients are engaged and actively involved in their care because we work as a team! With the ever-evolving opioid crisis, I strive to do my part as a physician to be a responsible prescriber.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I spend my free time with my family, friends and fur babies. You can often find me outside gardening, tending to my goats and chickens, or reading on the deck.

Dr Maxwell comes into the room with a wonderful knowledge of my history and concerns. She is extremely thorough when discussing my health and needs. Her "bedside manner" is very comforting and calming. I find we can openly discuss my health and care.

Dr. Maxwell always shows concern about any medical concerns that are brought up and develops a plan quickly. I never feel rushed in appointments. I would definitely recommend her to others.
