Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
In high school I was given the opportunity to shadow the neonatologist who took care of me as a child. This experience inspired me, and I soon became an EMT. I worked as an EMT throughout college, which further fueled my desire to pursue medicine. I went to medical school with the intent of becoming a neonatologist. After doing my surgery rotation, It was clear that surgery was my calling. My love for general surgery developed into a passion for minimally invasive and metabolic surgery. I feel blessed daily that I have the opportunity to care for patients and their families.
What I want my patients to know about me:
In this age of ever changing health care, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. My staff and I are dedicated to treating our patients like family and enjoy going above and beyond! We understand that pursuing general or metabolic surgery is one of the most important decisions of your life, therefore it is one of ours. We are committed to understanding our patients needs and providing them with the help they need.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Continuing to educate myself on how to better serve my patients. Aside from my profession, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two boys. I have a passion and love for the outdoors and enjoy wood working.

Dr Marone is the absolute best provider I've ever had in healthcare! He treats you as a person with respect, care and compassion. He is very passionate and knowledgeable and he honestly is my hero! He performed the gastric sleeve almost 3 years ago and provided me the education,tools, and support to succeed! I live in Palmyra, and the Lebanon office is closer; however, I drive the distance to Steven's office as I get exceptional care by all staff.
