Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
The best part of my job is getting to know my patients and their families. I am privileged to be involved in their lives both through sickness and health. Every day is different and challenging.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My husband and I moved to York County in 1999. I am a full-time physician in a multi-provider group practicing the full spectrum of family medicine. I am also involved in teaching residents at WellSpan York Hospital and have been on two medical mission trips to Haiti in recent years.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
I love spending time with my three children. I volunteer with their school and clubs when I can. I am an avid reader. I exercise for stress relief and have completed several half-marathons. I love the inclusiveness of the local running community.

Friday October 11 I drove myself to Canada to celebrate Thanksgiving with extended family but instead became so ill I realized I would not be able to drive myself home safely. As my family rallied to organize my return to York, I contacted Dr McCabe through my patient portal. She answered promptly, offering an office appointment upon my return. Most significantly, she wrote that she was concerned about me.

Dr McCabe took me on as a patient when my PCP passed away. I knew her from the practice so her graciously accepting me as her patient was important with easing the pain of losing such a caring, dedicated provider ([provider name]). Dr McCabe made my transition from [provider name] to her, so much easier. Ever since I became her patient she has been absolutely perfect - caring, attentive, knowledgeable, and always willing to discuss any item(s) I was concerned about.
