Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:

I have always felt called to a career in medicine for as long as I can remember. I desired a profession that would be challenging, exciting, and helpful to others - something that would positively impact my community and fulfill my desire to learn and grow. Practicing medicine allows me to be a provider, educator, colleague, friend, and more; but most importantly, it allows me to serve and love the people I encounter every day.

What I want my patients to know about me:

Patients should expect a personal relationship in the context of their care when they come to visit me. I enjoy getting to know the patients I care for as regular people. In fact, maintaining a longitudinal relationship with patients is one of my favorite parts of being a provider. Through this connection, I hope to convey the importance of health promotion and disease prevention to my patients, as well as offer advice for screenings and additional health maintenance. I also want patients to feel comfortable asking any questions they may have, and my goal is for them to leave the office feeling as though they were addressed and answered. Patients should expect to be actively involved in their care and medical decision making throughout their visit with me. I hope they will feel empowered to take charge of their own health and know that I am here to advocate for them always.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients:

In my free time, I enjoy any type of outdoor activity – hiking, biking, camping, and boating are some of my favorites! My husband and I love spending time with family and friends by sharing a meal together, playing board games, or just sitting outside under the stars. We are involved with our youth group at church and spend an awful lot of time hanging out with the teenagers we love so dearly. We enjoy traveling the world and visiting state and national parks when we can, too.
