As a biology major in college, I had not thought about what career to take. Having had a pediatric kidney disease, I had an interest in medicine. After taking my MCATs and doing well, I applied to medical school and got in on an early acceptance. After spending time in medical school, my focus changed to rheumatology due to my mother's autoimmune disease. After a short time working in the field, I decided this was the direction to go. I love diagnosing and treating autoimmune diseases in rheumatology.
I am very straightforward and will not hold back information. I like my patients to be well educated on their condition and will gladly spend time with them so that they are comfortable with what I feel is going on. Rheumatology is still a field that is considered the art of medicine. Tests are not typically the way to find an answer, a thorough history is. Therefore I do ask a lot of specific questions. My goal is the same as my patients. I want to get them feeling better and back to living a happy productive life doing the things that they like to do.
I enjoy spending time at our family's cabin where there is no cell phone service. I enjoy almost any sport and will watch or play almost all of them. Going to my family's cabin, small weekend trips with friends and exercising are how I enjoy spending a majority of my time away from work. I also have quite an extensive LEGO collection.

I see Dr. Diehl usually just once a year for psoriatic arthritis, unless I'm having an issue. He has always reviewed my history prior to the appointment, answers any questions and asks me many pertinent questions regarding my condition.
I am very grateful to have Dr Diehl as my rheumatologist. I have a long term condition and have been treated by others over many years. He is patient, gentle and kind and I feel confident with his suggested treatments.
Good experience, but it took 4 months to make appointment to see Dr. Diehl. It was difficult for me to have to wait so long as I was in a lot of pain. I was told I had to register as a new patient because I hadn't seen the doctor in about three years.
Very good visit
Dr Diehl is always an excellent professional practitioner. I appreciate his knowledge and totally trust his recommendations.
Listens, and explains everything.
He always explains things well.
Dr. Diehl is a excellent dr. He takes time to answer all my questions and is willing to talk to my other drs.
Dr Diehl is EXCELLENT in every aspect of his professional care for me and my osteoporosis. He answers all my questions and is completely up to date on all the latest research. He can explain everything thoroughly and in easily understandable language. He listens attentively and allows me to completely express my points of view. I hope he stays in practice the rest of my lifetime because I cannot imagine any better osteoporosis specialist than he is. I don't ever want anyone else to be my provider for my osteoporosis management. Thank you, Dr Diehl, for all you do. You are very appreciated.
Good.
