Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare?:

I tremendously enjoy simply being with patients along their health journeys. Helping others recognize their innate strengths is joyful work, and this is a core feature of primary care medicine. By listening to your stories, history, and adapting care to your unique life situation I cherish making a health plan that makes sense for you—logistically, financially, and otherwise. Medicine is not one size fits all!

I have additional training in public health and medical health education, having received an MPH from Johns Hopkins in 2023 and MSEd from the University of Rochester in 2014. I use this training to work as full-time faculty with the resident family medicine physicians at Wellspan Family Medicine- Thomas Hart in York, PA, teaching best practices, evidence-based approaches, and highlighting social determinants affecting individual patient care. I am particularly interested in the impact of race and gender on health care outcomes.

What I want my patients to know about me?:

I have a strong interest in public health (such as vaccines, and food / housing insecurity), data-driven treatment decisions and reducing the cost of healthcare. I specifically enjoy working with mother / child pairs. I perform procedures such as IUD and Nexplanon placement, pap smears and skin biopsies among others. I often have medical students and/or residents working alongside me in the office and the hospital.

What I do when I’m not seeing patients?:

Being outdoors in nature is very important for all of us based on emerging research (just google "forest bathing"). It appears humans may not be made for captivity! In addition, research shows spending time outdoors reduces stress, decreases blood pressure and helps us to slow down and find our breath. I love spinning, weight training, running, and spend a lot of time in my kitchen scratch cooking pretty much anything and everything.
