Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
I grew up in Ghana, West Africa, and was aware of the challenging health care situation there, along with the striking prevalence of hypertension, diabetes in the community and in my own family. These factors motivated me to pursue medicine. As far back as I can remember, I knew I was going to be a doctor. It's shaped by experiences and hard to put into words.
What I want my patients to know about me:
I want my patients to know that I respects their opinion, listen as they describe health issues and symptoms, and ask follow-up questions in order to understand the cause of their illness.
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Outside of work I like to spend time with my family. I enjoy domestic and international travel. I also enjoy watching sports including soccer, basketball, football, tennis and volleyball.
