Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:
Passion was for art, music, and design. I was plunged into the field of medicine at 15 years of age without much choice, scared not knowing what to expect, yet did not want to disappoint my dad. He wanted me to do something substantial in life and reserve my passion for a hobby. My carrier in medicine started at a charitable hospital in India, moved on to serve and care for people of Sultanate of Oman Bedouins close to the Yemen border, then to the United States to care for the community of Gettysburg as well as the Veterans and the Lebanon VA Medical Center where I work in the ER.
What I want my patients to know about me:
My journey from the East to the West has transformed my nightmare for a career in medicine to the most gratifying experience as I was able to meet and care for several people of different cultural backgrounds who have become my friends and extended family. Now when I look back, my dad literally carved my destiny and gave me the best gift a father could ever give his child. He taught me to understand the basic concept of life, to love help and care for people as well every living being, and my greatest reward has been a simple thank you, which cannot surpass the greatest lottery!
What I do when I'm not seeing patients:
Listening to music, designing my house and talking to my grandkitty, little Sammy.
