Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:

I have always been fascinated by the human body and its ability to function, maintain health, and heal itself. Studying the science of chemistry and physics and their relationship to the human body drew me into the medical profession. I began my career as a Critical Care nurse and worked many years in Open Heart and Trauma Intensive Care Units. It was a natural progression to further my education and enter training to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Today I serve as the Chief Nurse Anesthetist at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. I manage the daily operations of the Anesthesia Department as well as provide clinical anesthesia services to patients of all ages.

What I do when I'm not seeing patients:

I am an avid "foodie" and self proclaimed "restaurant critic". My spouse is a chef, thus I love to cook, mostly experimenting with new ideas and reformulations of old recipes. We have 3 Airedale Terriers that are our constant companions no matter where we travel. Doing projects in the yard, garden, and house help me unwind at the end of the day. My idea of relaxing is being any place tropical.
