Description

Is your Christian faith a support in your journey towards improved mental health? Do you turn to Bible scriptures and prayer to help aid in your emotional processing and healing? "Faith, Family and Transformation" is a Christian faith-based group that allows you to share your Christian faith-based practices and mental health struggles in a safe group setting. The group will primarily focus on Biblical scripture and themes, all with an interest in use of Christian faith-based practices as a support for improved mental health. Group sessions will focus on:

  • Christian faith-based calming and coping strategies with Bible scripture, music, art, etc.
  • Processing family of origin and relationship challenges and their influences on your Christian faith and mental health.
  • Developing a family genogram to encourage insight of unhealthy patterns in family of origin and its impact on present relationships and processing health strategies for dealing with family and relationship challenges.
  • Processing group members experiences of the Christian church's view of mental health diagnosis and treatment.

Group members must have the ability to communicate effectively in a group format and cannot have active psychosis, active addiction, or active SI/HI symptoms.

Current Philhaven patients should talk to their provider. For new Philhaven patients, please call (717) 851-1375 or (800) 459-7497.
