Understanding Breastfeeding is a virtual class where we will discuss what to expect in the early days of breastfeeding your newborn. We will cover: the benefits of breast milk; anatomy and physiology of milk production; milk production in the first week and contents of colostrum and breastmilk; how to achieve a good latch; breastfeeding positions; supplementation - if needed (formula, donor breast milk, colostrum) alternative ways to supplement to support your breastfeeding journey; and breast pumps.
