Description

Do you find it difficult for you to trust others and form meaningful relationships? Are you struggling to manage your mental health, and personality?  Teen time is an opportunity for many young individuals to focus on their mental health, in a safe and respected environment. Individuals will practice skills that could help their mindfulness, self-esteem, social anxiety,and assertiveness. Individuals will be able to form more meaningful relationships and establish trust. Group sessions will focus on: 

  • Mindfulness 
  • Relational issues that lead to psychological symptoms or dissatisfaction in relationships 
  • Difficulty trusting others 
  • Communication barriers 
  • Self-esteem 
  • Coping skills 
  • Distress tolerance 
  • How to relate better with others 
  • How to forge meaningful relationships 
  • Social anxiety 
  • Assertiveness 

Group members must be age 13 to 18 and still in high school. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in group format. Potential participants cannot have active psychosis, active addiction or active suicidal/homicidal thoughts.

Instructions

This group meets virtually on Tuesdays for 6 weeks from 4:00 to 5:00 pm with group leader Mindy Hilyard, LPC. While all efforts will be made to assist you in entering a group as quickly as possible, you may need to be temporarily added to a waitlist.
