Advanced CBT & DBT Skills - Concord Road

Description

Patients who have completed the introduction to CBT/DBT skills group are welcome to join an advanced version applying the basic skills in a deeper context. This content will further understanding and utilization of cognitive skills in a more personalized and applicable manner. Patients will be able to complete activities such as a thought record, cognitive case conceptualization, daily mood logs/charts, etc.  Group sessions will focus on: 

  • Review of CBT and DBT skills 
  • DBT mood chart/goals 
  • Chain analysis 
  • Identification of personal thought distortions 
  • Thought record log 
  • Core beliefs and begin to develop a cognitive case conceptualization 
  • Finding new beliefs and putting the conceptualization to work 

Clients must have completed a CBT/DBT skills, CBT skills, or DBT skills group or have successfully discharged from individual therapy with a CBT or DBT therapist and feels as though they have a basic understanding of skills. Group members must have the ability to communicate effectively in group format. Potential participants cannot have active psychosis, active addiction or active suicidal/homicidal thoughts.

Instructions

This group meets for 11 weeks on Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm with group leaders Emily Ruch, PsyD and Tyler Loy, PsyD. While all efforts will be made to assist you in entering a group as quickly as possible, you may need to be temporarily added to a waitlist.
