Is stress having a direct cause on the amount of food you eat, or what you eat? Do you find yourself using food as a coping mechanism for the stress you are facing? The "Emotional Eating Group" can provide group members coping skills of how to handle the stress they are faced with. Group members will learn how habits are formed, how to change those habits and how to identify and manage emotions without using food. The group will also help individuals practice mindful eating and learn interpersonal effectiveness skills to help get their needs met without turning to food. Group sessions will focus on:
Group members must be able to communicate effectively in a group format. Members cannot have active psychosis, active addiction or active suicidal or homicidal ideation.

This 12-week group meets on Mondays at 5:30 to 7:00 pm with group leader Shawne Diaz, LPC. While all efforts will be made to assist you in entering a group as quickly as possible, you may need to be temporarily added to a waitlist.
