Are you struggling to cope with your thoughts and emotions? Do your mental health symptoms keep you from living life as you would like? Are you interested in learning how to apply new and effective coping skills to help decrease your struggles? This group is for individuals wanting to learn more about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and CBT techniques to better their lives. Use of CBT is clinically proven to be effective in treating depression, anxiety, stress, anger and more. WellSpan Philhaven offers groups designed to help individuals learn and apply CBT skills and techniques to help manage unhelpful thinking and difficult feelings and change behaviors that negatively impact their lives. Group sessions will focus on:    

  • Psychoeducation on CBT 
  • Mindfulness 
  • Pros and Cons/Problem Solving 
  • Core Beliefs 
  • Relaxation 
  • Opposite Action/Exposure 
  • Behavioral Activation/Activity Scheduling 
  • Distress Tolerance 
  • Cognitive Distortions 
  • Assertiveness 

Group members must have the ability to communicate effectively in group format. Potential participants cannot have active psychosis, active addiction or active suicidal/homicidal thoughts.

Instructions

This 11-week group meets on Thursdays at 6:00 to 7:00 pm with group leader Angelo Fiordimondo, PhD. While all efforts will be made to assist you in entering a group as quickly as possible, you may need to be temporarily added to a waitlist.
