Coed Trauma Process Group - Ephrata

Event Image

Description

This group normalizes the effects of trauma (normal reactions to abnormal stress) and helps you learn skills to continue your journey from victim to survivor to thriving. You will learn skills to reclaim your sense of safety, manage distress, and build healthier relationships. This group does not ask you to delve deep into the details of the trauma, as this can be re-traumatizing to yourself and others, but instead uses a peer support and trauma recovery approach to review topics the group wants to cover, such as:

  • Coping with triggers
  • Leaving a bad scene (recognizing red and green flags)
  • Choosing Self-Respect
  • Pacing Yourself
  • Creating Meaning
  • Creating a New Story

Group members cannot have unmanaged personality disorders, active psychosis, active addiction or active SI/HI symptoms. Due to group requirements, new participants may be invited to meet with a group leader individually before starting group sessions. Current Philhaven patients should talk to their provider. For new Philhaven patients, please call (717) 279-2760 or (800) 459-7497.
