Residents have five hours of protected education time weekly on Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. Residents don’t work in the ED on Wednesday overnights so they can attend conference on Thursday mornings.
Each week (including off service), residents and faculty come together to participate in a variety of educational modalities, including:
- small groups
- mini lectures
- oral boards
- simulation
- escape rooms
- clinical variation panel
- morbidity and mortality
- clinical pathological conference (CPC)
- board/in training exam review sessions
- chief hours
