WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital Pediatrics
For over 125 years, WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital has served as Franklin County’s cornerstone for providing compassionate and high-quality health care for all. Today, just like when we started, our team of caring clinical experts have a shared goal and commitment of providing exceptional health care to our friends and neighbors. This commitment extends to ensuring the highest quality care and timely support for our most vulnerable children:
- Our continuum of pediatric care extends throughout our communities in Franklin County to ensure quality and timely care for children in an outpatient setting – including multiple WellSpan family medicine practices and urgent care locations, as well as through pediatric locations as part of our network of care.

- Offering multiple levels of pediatric care at the hospital, including:
- Inpatient services
- We admit pediatric patients to the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital inpatient pediatric unit under the attending surgeon's care.
- Emergency services
- WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital physicians treat and monitor lower acuity pediatric illness in the emergency department, such as dehydration, acute asthma exacerbations, broken bones, and croup.
- For children who are more seriously ill or injured, after they are assessed and treated by WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital physicians, they may need to be transferred to another facility that can provide a higher level of specialized care.
- Additional pediatric support is provided by our WellSpan York Hospital pediatric hospitalist group – a dedicated group of physicians and advanced practice providers trained to treat pediatric patients – via virtual health consultation.
